MM,CM etc dimensions/ scaling for accuracy and 3D printing.
I don’t know if you’re aware of this, but when you export a model as .stl or .obj, Valence gives you an option to select what scale unit you want to use: inches, mm, cm, meters, feet, yards, etc. So you can scale your object in the app to the dimensions you want, and then select the unit of measure you want to use when exporting it. I hope that helps you out.
That’s all good and well, but I need to use mm/cm measuring whilst designing my ideas in valence for accuracy as a jeweller, when creating settings.
You can see the scale units as you’re working on the model. You can just treat the scale units as if 1 scale unit = 1 mm, and then select MM when exporting.
Thanks for the suggestion! Now in version 1.1.8 you can set the units of the file and also select the export units and valence will scale things accordingly. Its out as of today! Let me know if this works for you.
